Accident & Health

In the arenas of Accident Sickness & Unemployment, Critical Illness, and Income Protection insurances, there can be little doubt that the most effective way of gathering information to assist the progress of a claim is via a face-to-face discussion with the claimant in the relatively early stages. Such early enquiries provide an opportunity to set the scene for both the claimant and the insurer, and can help to bring the claim to an early and satisfactory conclusion.

Prospect’s professional and caring approach toward the interview process recognises that genuine claimants form the majority, and these will be reassured that insurers have their welfare in mind. Equally, for those intent on pursuing a fictitious or exaggerated claim, a timely warning will be served .

Our field operatives will bring to the interview process a diverse wealth of practical experience gained in interviewing and counselling situations, and will approach all claimants with care and consideration uppermost.

Interviews are usually conducted on the basis of a pro forma style statement, with the claimant forewarned to have available a comprehensive list of all prescribed medication together with any other documentation required by the insurer in support of the claim.

Typically our report will include detailed reference to:

· ID Verification
· The claimant's character and personal circumstances
· Employment history and level of pre-incident earnings
· Past medical history
· Nature of accident or sickness
· Treatment and medication prescribed, past and present
· Progress towards recovery
· Credibility of claim
· Opinion and recommendations on further actions required
